Just thinking about some of the worst films of the 1980s...I think most of them were directed by John Hughes, and had Molly Ringworm (oops, I mean Ringwald) in them. Also who told the Coreys that they could act???? It boggles the mind.

Re: Who told these people they could Act!
Thu, April 1, 2004 - 6:41 AMExactly! What is the point of consistantly casting the Coreys(wow, the alliteration!) in bad movies where one of them always has strangely moussed hair, and the other tries to dance like Michael Jackson? I don't think that I've ever seen so many guys wearing makeup and hair mousse as I did in the 1980s! (excepting drag queens, of course) -

Re: Who told these people they could Act!
Fri, April 2, 2004 - 9:46 PMYes...unfortunately I will probably never live down my early teen-hood crushes on certain members of Duran Duran and Guns n'Roses. ..all of whom wore more makeup and used more hair products (during that decade) than I have in my entire life!
And then there are the actors like Anthony Michael Hall, Richard Grieco, and Adrian Zmed, who achieved brief popularity in the 1980s, and then disappeared from view (thankfully) somewhere during the time of Grunge. -

Re: Who told these people they could Act!
Mon, April 5, 2004 - 9:54 PMYes he's actually under the heading of those who cannot act their way out of a paper bag...not those that I am ashamed to admit that I had a crush on. However, teenagers have no taste whatsoever anyways, and I (unfortunately) have to admit that I was no exception. I am still trying to figure out how to pronounce "Kiefer"(Sutherland)...is it "Keefer, Kifer, Kipper"? Does anyone really know or is this one of the secrets that will elude me forever?
How many licks DOES it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop? -

Most excruciating movie trend of the 80s? - Rap movies. It does not get any more embarrasing than Crush Groove.
Speaking of crushes.
Lisa Bonet
Felcia Allen Rashad
Amy Mann - Saw 'Til Tuesday twice in concert.
Hey, I am a complicated man. -

Re: Who told these people they could Act!
Mon, May 16, 2005 - 6:16 AMI dunno, man, it all seemed so cool back then. But then so did thrift-store jackets with the sleeves rolled up, worn over florescent t-shirts and big skirts with petticoats under them. And of course the unisex skinny tie (bolo tie optional). I saw "The Lost Boys" like, 15 times, and that's before you could watch it at home. By the way, it's pronounced "Keefer". "The Breakfast Club" actually has some good performances in it, or at least moments (Anthony Michael Hall crying over failing shop - priceless!) -

Re: Who told these people they could Act!
Mon, May 16, 2005 - 10:46 AMi've said it once, i'll say it again: lost boys is one of my favorite movies ever! breakfast club is pretty good but watching it again a couple years ago, i learned that it doesn't age very well... -

Re: Who told these people they could Act!
Wed, June 15, 2005 - 8:46 AMTwo nights ago I just got done watching a thrilling extremely futuristic movie called Runaway staring The mustache himself Mr. Tom Selek, and the vilian is played by Gene Simmons and also starring kirstie allie and the girl from dirty dancing. Thats pretty 80's. Selek hunts down robots that gene simmons puts crazy computer chips in that makes the robots try to kill people. Selek is the master of the male soap opera especially in the 80's.
Georgeous Mustache!!!
